If You’re Getting Sick of It, Imagine How I Feel

Acrylic painting on stretched canvas

36” X 48” X 1.5”

This piece embodies the tension and complexity of emotional exhaustion—those moments when the world’s noise becomes overwhelming, yet we’re forced to keep moving, keep feeling, keep responding. In If You’re Getting Sick of It, Imagine How I Feel, I wanted to convey a raw, layered intensity. The colors clash and blend in a chaotic harmony, mirroring that inner dialogue of frustration and resilience. Faces emerge through vibrant tones, symbols of a silent but fierce endurance, surrounded by dripping details and abstract forms that hint at an internalized chaos spilling out.

Each element in this piece carries a weight, representing different layers of emotional wear and tear. There’s a cage, symbols of escape and confinement, and playful shapes that contrast with the intense central gaze—each visual element is a nod to the duality of feeling trapped yet striving for relief. This painting speaks to anyone who’s had enough yet knows they’ll keep pushing forward, finding beauty and strength even in the noise.

Through bold contrasts and saturated hues, I wanted to capture that familiar feeling of reaching a limit but continuing anyway, because sometimes art is the only way to express the exhaustion words can’t capture.
